ART + ALE + BBQ = FUN

  BRING YOUR SELF…

   BRING YOUR STUFF…

 AND READYMAKE!

Saturday, June 6 from 1:00 pm to 5 pm,  FREE entry!

Bring clothes, objects, non-perishable items, thoughts on paper, poetry, books, and add to our MASSIVE installation in the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre Sculpture Park and open mic, lead by Guelph artist Susan Detwiler. There will be music, artist talks, cash barbecue and bar, and FUN. All re-usable items contributed to the scultpure will be donated to charity. Admission is free so come out and READYMAKE!!

This installation is a collaborative gesture of art making centred on the idea of community celebration. The installation will be like a large 3D collage, constructed from the personal photographs, objects and pieces of clothing that participants bring with them. A series of clothesline type cords will be strung throughout the park where the personal items provided by participants will be hung with clothes pegs, clips and pieces of string. People will also be able to make drawings or text based works on swatches of fabric to include in the installation. Like Tibetan prayer flags that contain wishes to be carried on the wind these memories and personal objects will create a portrait of the community as an impromptu temporary installation.

There will be an open mic stage. Bring your acoustic guitar. Give an artist talk. Recite Poetry.
